Life Member Nominations

Any member of the Mt Lawley Tennis Club may nominate a person or person's for life member status.

To nominate you must apply to the board in writing, detailing all the person/s contributions to the club. Once the board receives a nomination, a discussion and vote is taken. If the board agrees, the person nominated is presented to the MLTC community at the AGM and the MLTC community will then vote on whether that person is awarded life member status.

This is a very prestigious award, that recognises life-long contributions by a member of the community.

You will notice that these ladies and men have made enormous contributions to the club, many through extended service in a board position. For example, Mrs GS Waters served as secretary from 1952-1967, Wayne Firns has been President for 11 seasons (1986-91 and 2003-09) and Dennis Jones served as Club Captain (1975-1979) and President (1980-1986). Our most recent recipient, Les Emery, was Club Captain (1993-1996) and then became President (1997-2001). He continues to be very involved with the club behind the scenes through his role on the Strategic Committee.

Therefore, if as a club member you would like to nominate someone of this calibre, please do so and have your nominations in by 20th April 2011. Nominations to be addressed to the President.
